Couponing

My husband and I have been talking about little things that we can do to save money. We used to go out to eat all of the time, so we decided to cut back. This means that we are eating a lot of meals at home. Thanks to Pinterest, I have been exploring new recipes and enjoying myself while cooking!
I am a stay-at-home mom, so I was thinking about ways that I could contribute to this money saving idea! I searched the interet and found The Krazy Coupon Lady! I have seen Extreme Couponing and I am in awe of these people who are getting so much for so little. I am not an Extreme Couponer by any means, but I thought that I could just be a couponer and see if it made a difference. What is nice about The Krazy Coupon Lady website is that they do a lot of the work for you! They tell you great deals that are out there and then tell you how to get the coupons! So, I started doing my research, and I have been buying my Sunday paper to get the coupon inserts. It really does make a difference! On Sunday afternoon/night I sat down and figured out my menu for the week and the different items we needed. I then went through my coupons to see what I could save. Here is a sample:

Girls Night Out!

Oh yes it's ladies night and we are feeling right!! Every lady needs a night out! My sisters and I along with some of our friends throw a girls night out party every year! This year, we decided to have a "Slumber Party"! We dedcided to go with a zebra print and red theme. Here are some pictures of how we decorated!

I used my Cricut to make the banner and then I tied each circle together with a  red tulle bow. We found the balloons at Hobby Lobby. The zebra material was leftover table runners from my sister-in -laws wedding.

We found the cute zebra gift bags at Hobby Lobby.

To make the cake: We made a 13x9 cake. My sister in law drew the outline on a piece of paper and we laid it on top of the cake and cut it out. The zebra print on the cake was from Wal-Mart, they are sugar sheets, so we just cut out the shape and placed it on the cake! It came out better than we thought it would and it was super fun to have at the party! Would be great for a bachlorette party!

Heat-Bonded Onesies

This is a pretty quick project, and they are so cute! I used my Cricut to cut out the stencils. I then used heat bond to attatch the stencil to the onesie. After the shape is attatched, I used a blanket stitch around the shape to add a little character and I feel like it helps keep it attatched better!

They make great gifts! You could also use this technique for birthday onesies and shirts!

I love to Knit!

Two years ago, my mom showed me how to knit, and now I can't stop! I love knitting! I have made scarfs, hats, and blankets! It is really fun now that I have my little lady, because I can make her cute hats to wear, and she is just so darn cute in them!

Here are a couple of baby hats that I have made recently and you can actually purchase some of them at my Etsy store! The two above are out of the book Baby Beanies by Amanda Keeys

I also made another Rapunzel Hat for my daughter... but this time I added a knitted flower, which I like better!
